Week 3 Fantasy Football RB Rankings 2026: Updated September 24, 2026 — Evening | Full PPR
Jahmyr Gibbs leads our Week 3 fantasy football running back rankings for 2026, followed by Christian McCaffrey and Kenneth Walker III. Their combination of rushing and receiving opportunities puts them at the top of our full PPR list.

Farther down the rankings, Saquon Barkley presents a different decision. With his game scheduled for Monday night, fantasy managers need a backup plan before Sunday’s lineups lock.

Week 3 Running Back Rankings: Top 12

  1. Jahmyr Gibbs
  2. Christian McCaffrey
  3. Kenneth Walker III
  4. Bijan Robinson
  5. Jonathan Taylor
  6. Derrick Henry
  7. De’Von Achane
  8. James Cook III
  9. Chase Brown
  10. Ashton Jeanty
  11. Saquon Barkley*
  12. Breece Hall

Barkley’s ranking assumes he plays without a meaningful workload restriction. Bijan Robinson retains his original Thursday pregame ranking.

Why Gibbs, McCaffrey and Walker Lead the List
Gibbs offers production in both phases. Our Week 3 projections put him at approximately 134 combined rushing and receiving yards. That balance gives him multiple ways to contribute, including through receptions when rushing opportunities are limited.

McCaffrey’s receiving involvement remains a major advantage. Our projections include approximately 40 receiving yards, supporting his position near the top in full PPR.

Walker belongs in the same conversation. We project approximately 115 combined yards for him this week. He ranks third, giving managers another strong option alongside Gibbs and McCaffrey.

Saquon Barkley: Make Your Monday Backup Plan Now
Barkley was limited in Thursday’s practice with a stinger. That does not establish that he will miss Monday’s game—or that he is cleared for his usual workload.
His backups also need monitoring: Tank Bigsby missed Thursday’s practice with an abdomen injury, and Will
Shipley did not practice because of a foot injury. Neither should be treated as an automatic healthy replacement.

Before Sunday’s early games lock, decide whether to start a healthy alternative or hold an eligible Monday-night replacement. If you wait on Barkley, placing him in FLEX when possible preserves the option to substitute a receiver or tight end.

Who Is Just Outside the Top 12?
Chuba Hubbard, Omarion Hampton, Bucky Irving and Kyren Williams are next in our rankings and remain firmly in the RB2 and FLEX discussion.
For close RB2 and FLEX decisions, check the latest workload expectations and injury updates before choosing between them.
