5 Lineup Decisions to Watch Before Sunday
Week 2 fantasy football lineups still have several moving parts. Nico Collins and Brock Bowers need backup plans, Chris Olave’s practice status deserves attention, and two backfields could look different by Sunday.
We rechecked our FantasyLineups NFL news feed, including RotoBaller coverage, and official team injury reports Friday morning. These five situations remain unresolved ahead of Friday’s practices. Here is what to watch and how to prepare your lineup.

1. Nico Collins: Have a replacement ready
Collins went from limited participation Wednesday to missing Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury. Houston’s official injury report still had no final Week 2 game designation Friday morning. He has not been ruled out in that report.
That leaves his availability against Cincinnati unresolved. A return to practice would be encouraging, but managers should also look for information about his expected workload.
Our lineup approach: Identify your best healthy bench receiver now. If Collins misses the game, Kayshon Boutte becomes a speculative option in deeper leagues. Our news coverage flags the possibility of more opportunities for Boutte, but that does not make him a direct replacement for Collins’s production.
2. Brock Bowers: Secure a backup tight end
Bowers missed both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices with a knee injury. The Raiders’ injury report had no final game designation at the time of this review.
His Friday participation matters, along with any confirmed guidance about his workload. A reduced role is a possibility discussed in our news coverage, not a confirmed snap restriction.
Our lineup approach: Have another tight end available before Sunday. Michael Mayer is a conditional streaming option if Bowers sits against the Chargers. As covered in our fantasy news feed, Mayer caught six passes on seven targets in the opener without Bowers. Check his availability in your league now so you have a plan before kickoff.
3. Chris Olave: Monitor Friday without rushing to bench him
Olave was added to Thursday’s Saints injury report as a limited participant with a hamstring issue.
There is encouraging context: our RotoBaller news coverage cited Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill, who described his early practice exit as precautionary. That supports patience, although Friday’s participation still needs checking. A limited practice does not itself establish an official questionable game designation.
Our lineup approach: Keep Olave in your starting plans if subsequent reports support his usual workload. A missed practice, a setback or a reported limitation would trigger another review. Have a bench receiver ready, but Thursday’s limited session alone is not enough for us to recommend sitting him.
4. Stevenson and Henderson: Reassess the workload
TreVeyon Henderson participated fully Wednesday and Thursday while listed with an ankle injury, according to the Patriots’ official report.
Our news coverage highlights how a potential return could affect Rhamondre Stevenson. Stevenson handled a larger workload with Henderson unavailable in Week 1; another week of that volume should not be assumed.
Our lineup approach: If Henderson is cleared, expect more competition for touches and reassess Stevenson against your other RB2 and flex options. Henderson also needs a role check before going straight into your lineup. Full practices are encouraging, but they do not establish how New England will divide the work.
5. Swift and Monangai: Check both injury updates
D’Andre Swift remained limited with ankle and knee issues, while Kyle Monangai was limited with a hamstring injury. Both appear on the Bears’ official injury report ahead of the Minnesota matchup.
Our lineup approach: Swift remains our preferred Chicago back if both are cleared for their normal roles. Monangai’s outlook would improve if Swift misses the game, provided Monangai is healthy enough to take on more work himself. If both remain uncertain, prioritize a healthy alternative with a clearer workload.
