Fantasy football drafts are underway, and the New York Jets enter the 2026 season with several important questions fantasy managers need to answer.
Geno Smith is now running the offense under offensive coordinator Frank Reich. Garrett Wilson remains the centerpiece of the passing game. Breece Hall leads the backfield but is currently working his way back from a groin injury. Meanwhile, the Jets have intriguing young options at wide receiver and tight end whose roles are still developing.

Jets Offensive Scheme and Fantasy Outlook
Frank Reich takes over as offensive coordinator with Geno Smith leading an offense that has an opportunity to improve significantly from last season.
The Jets have an established No. 1 receiver in Garrett Wilson, a proven lead running back in Breece Hall and several young pass catchers competing for opportunities. The tight end position is particularly interesting, with Mason Taylor currently ahead of first-round rookie Kenyon Sadiq on the depth chart.
The offensive line also gives New York a foundation to build around, with Olu Fashanu, Dylan Parham, Josh Myers, Joe Tippmann and Armand Membou currently comprising the starting five.
For fantasy purposes, Smith doesn’t need to become an elite quarterback for this offense to improve. More consistent quarterback play could increase the value of Wilson and the other pass catchers while giving the Jets a better chance to sustain drives and create scoring opportunities.
The early returns have been encouraging. Smith completed all seven of his passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in his preseason appearance against Pittsburgh. On Monday, he also directed a successful two-minute touchdown drive in practice that ended with a scoring pass to rookie Omar Cooper Jr.
2026 Jets Strength of Schedule
Strength of schedule should never be the only reason to draft or avoid a fantasy player.
Instead, it should be another part of the evaluation alongside talent, expected opportunities, injuries, depth-chart position, offensive scheme and projections.
The Jets face a challenging overall schedule in 2026, making individual matchups something fantasy managers will want to monitor throughout the season.
For draft purposes, strength of schedule becomes particularly useful when choosing between similarly ranked players. Elite talent and projected volume should still carry more weight than schedule alone.
2026 New York Jets Fantasy Football Players to Watch
Garrett Wilson
Wilson remains the clear centerpiece of the Jets passing game.
The opportunity shouldn’t be the concern. The bigger question is whether Smith and the new offense can provide enough stability to turn Wilson’s expected target volume into more consistent fantasy production.
Wilson and Smith have continued developing their connection throughout camp, including connecting on another deep completion during Monday’s practice.
Breece Hall
Hall remains atop the Jets backfield after rushing for a career-high 1,065 yards in 2025.
The immediate concern is his groin injury, which has kept him out of practice. The encouraging news is that head coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Hall remains on track to play in Week 1.
That’s an important distinction for fantasy managers drafting right now.
An injury doesn’t automatically mean a player should tumble down draft boards. The severity, expected return date and projected role all matter.
Hall’s progress should continue to be monitored leading into the regular season.
Geno Smith
Smith has provided encouraging signs during the preseason.
Against Pittsburgh, he completed all seven of his passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. He followed that performance by leading the first-team offense on a successful two-minute touchdown drive during Monday’s practice.
That doesn’t suddenly make Smith an elite fantasy quarterback.
His bigger fantasy impact could come from improving the environment around Wilson, Hall and the Jets’ other pass catchers.
Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr.
The receiving opportunities behind Garrett Wilson are among the most interesting situations to monitor on the Jets roster.
Mitchell currently holds a starting spot on the depth chart, while Cooper continues working toward a larger role. Cooper provided another encouraging sign Monday when he caught the touchdown that completed Smith’s two-minute drill.
For fantasy managers searching for value later in drafts, the question isn’t simply which player has more talent.
Who is actually earning the opportunities?
That’s why following depth-chart movement and current team news matters throughout the final weeks before the season.
Mason Taylor and Kenyon Sadiq
The Jets’ tight end situation deserves attention.
Taylor currently sits ahead of Sadiq on the depth chart. Sadiq, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has missed valuable training-camp time while recovering from hernia surgery.
The latest news is encouraging. Aaron Glenn said Monday that Sadiq remains on track to be available for Week 1.
Fantasy managers shouldn’t automatically assume the highly drafted rookie immediately owns the position. Taylor’s current role and Sadiq’s return to full participation need to be monitored before draft day.
